Davis Street Family Resource Center

We provide a seamless network of support -- including child care, emergency food/clothing, medical/dental care, counseling/mental health services, employment training, job placement, parent education, tax assistance, more -- to low-income families.

Why do we exist?

The Davis Street Family Resource Center is a tremendous asset to the population most impacted by unemployment, low wages and poverty. Our programs are designed to provide opportunities for clients to “help themselves”.  We believe that each person has the ability and desire to maintain or achieve self-sufficiency and independence but often is faced with barriers that may seem insurmountable to them.  That’s where we come in.  We don’t just offer a “quick fix” to folks problems, we offer a relationship that nurtures the client both from within and externally.  Davis Street is a private non-profit organization whose mission it is to provide short and long term assistance to working poor, seniors and children in need.  Services include: quality affordable childcare, food, clothing, crisis counseling, individual, group, family and couple psychotherapy, free acute medical care, employment training and job placement, free income tax preparation for clients eligible to access the EITC – Earned Income Tax Credit, our annual Holiday Food and Toy basket program, a free Legal clinic and linkages to hundreds of community resources. Investment in our programs is an investment in the lives of thousands.  The Davis Street Family Resource Center provides all these life-sustaining services under one roof while providing dignity and the tool for a family to become self-sufficient.

What have you accomplished?

How do you help people in my community? Why do you need my support?
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it? Can I Volunteer? How?
