Visitors' Services Center/DC Jails

Named as one of the Washington Region's "best small charities" by the Catalogue of Philanthropy, VSC provides practical assistance to inmates at the DC Jail.

Why do we exist?

Jails are traditionally unpopular public concerns - but as unpopular as this concern may be - it is a cause that needs to be addressed with sensible practical answers. VSC is built on such an approach.

What have you accomplished?

We respond to more than 18,000 requests each year from inmates both men and women - at the DC jails...some questions are as basic as "who is my lawyer" or as complicated as "can you find someone to care for my kids".
