Our 13 paid employees and over 700 volunteers deliver nutritious meals and a measure of hope to men, women and children who are struggling with a life-threatening illness.
Why do we exist?
We prepare and home-deliver three meals a day, seven days a week to impoverished adults and children whose lives have been devastated by AIDS, cancer, diabetes, schizophrenia, post traumatic stress disorder or other critical illnesses. Besides nourishing meals, we deliver equal measures of love and hope to low-income clients who are too ill, isolated or emotionally damaged to care for themselves.
What have you accomplished?
Since 1990 we've provided over 4,000,000 meals to local residents suffering from life-threatening illness. Most of those meals were supplied to people affected by AIDS, but starting in 2006, we expanded our compassion and our mission to include people with illnesses other than AIDS. Our Critical Illness Nutrition Program joins our Home Delivered Meals Program in providing three daily meals for clients needing nutritional assistance. We also operate a Family Grocery Bag Program, Mama's Pantry, and our Children's Nutritional Health Program, each designed to serve unique populations.
