League of Conservation Voters Education Fund

To secure our planet's future, our mission is to strengthen the capacity of the environmental movement, to mobilize citizens as informed voters and to advocate for sound environmental policies.

How do you help people in my community?

LCV Education Fund staff of 37 includes 22 people in offices around the country. We work closely with local groups, helping coalitions work on important state and local issues. Through our training programs, innovative technology, and direct assistance, we’re helping grassroots groups be more effective in affecting environmental policy at the city, county, and state levels.

Why do you need my support?

The LCV Education Fund is building a whole new organizing infrastructure in states from coast to coast that is systematically generating increasing power for the environment as a top tier issue for the public, press and policy makers. Our continuing challenge is to fully develop and deploy this power against massive and immediate attacks on the environment, and demonstrate sustained and ever-growing strength as a citizens’ movement, capable of driving the policy agenda and winning from issue to issue. As a citizens’ movement, we want to increase the number of voices for the cause of environmental protection, and your participation as a messenger and ally is invaluable.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

LCV Education Fund’s fundraising and management expenses consistently fall below 15% of our overall expenses. We take our mission – and the resources we are given to achieve it – seriously.

Can I Volunteer? How?

On our website, www.VoteEnvironment.org, you can find contact information for your state. We encourage you to contact our staff or any of our state and local partners listed there to find out how you can help. Also, you can sign up there for email alerts, which will keep you informed of when you can affect policy decisions as a citizen by writing letters or attending public hearings, for instance. Most importantly, every one can remember that every vote counts in the fight for environmental protection.
