How do you help people in my community?

•Responded to 64,000 requests for lupus information. •Operated 190 support groups that served approximately 10,000 families. •Attended 910 health fairs reaching approximately 50,000 individuals. •Conducted 78 health symposiums attended by 6,400 individuals and 1,100 medical professionals. •Made presentations to women’s, medical, and advocacy groups about lupus, reaching 13,250 people.

Today, the LFA is the driving force that brings together all stakeholders to implement a coordinated national strategy for lupus. The Board of Directors has set a new strategic direction for the LFA that will generate new and expanded resources for our mission. We have the opportunity within the next decade to make tremendous strides in understanding lupus, developing safer and more effective treatments, and finding a cure. 87 cents of every dollar contributed to the LFA goes directly to fund programs of research, education, advocacy, and chapter support.

Can I Volunteer? How?


The Lupus Foundation of America has a network of 50 chapters located in 32 states serving 1,500 counties. Chapters work in partnership with the LFA National Office to conduct programs of research, education and advocacy, and to provide direct services to people with lupus.
