AFF encourages the long-term sustainability of America's forests, restores wildlife habitat and develops quality environmental education programs, to assure that Americans today, and in the future, enjoy healthy, growing forests.

How do you help people in my community?

We work with our 61,000 members of the American Tree Farm System across the country to practice sustainable forestry to provide clean water and create healthy wildlife habitats. Through Project Learning Tree, we train more than 25,000 educators across the country every year. We are helping our children and grandchildren learn how to think not what to think about environmental issues.

Why do you need my support?

Our ability to fulfill our mission is critically dependent on the generosity of individuals. The gifts you give enable us to work with volunteers and communities across the country. Donations are used to support our conservation and educational goals. Our vision is to educate Americans, youth and adults, on the importance of our nationˇ¦s private forestland, to increase their appreciation for wildlife habitat and to help them explore environmental issues affecting all of us. Weˇ¦re unique in our ability to work with forest landowners who own approximately 26 million acres of our nationˇ¦s forests. Additionally, our environmental curriculum is easily integrated into existing curricula and is easily adaptable to various educational settings, formal and nonformal.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

We depend on contributions to further our mission and carry out our projects every year. We are proud of our low overhead and administrative costs. We are heavily dependent on our network of almost 8,000 volunteers, therefore your contribution goes straight to the cause. We undergo a rigorous annual auditing process to ensure your money is put to good use.

Can I Volunteer? How?
