Epilepsy Foundation

National organization working to ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in life experiences, we seek to cure epilepsy through research, education, advocacy and service.

How do you help people in my community?

A network of local Epilepsy Foundations affiliated with the national office provides educational and direct services to individuals and families across the country. Our affiliates offer a variety of services, including School Alert, camping, information and referral, education and support groups. Respite care, assisted living, employment services, advocacy and case management may also be offered.

Why do you need my support?

In order to make significant progress in the search for ways to prevent, control and cure epilepsy, we seek to double our investment in nationally peer-reviewed epilepsy-related research over the next five years. In addition, by funding public policy and advocacy initiatives, we seek to double the Federal Government's investment in epilepsy-related research. Lastly, by funding advocacy and strategic alliances we seek to double the pharmaceutical industry's investment in research and development, leading to innovative treatment options for people with epilepsy.

How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?

History speaks for itself. We are pleased to say that nearly 80% of every donated dollar (annually certified audit) goes for research, education, advocacy and service. We constantly strive to exceed the standards set by most other charities and expect to continue improving on our investment in achieving our mission.

Can I Volunteer? How?

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our nationwide affiliate organizations. We encourage you to contact them. Contact information is readily available on our website (www.epilepsyfoundation.org) or by calling us (1-800-332-1000).
