CLINIC helps low-income newcomers -- including elderly, children, the detained and abused -- with family immigration, legal services and citizenship. CLINIC brings new American families together to strengthen our future.
Why do we exist?
Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in 1988. CLINIC is the largest provider of trainings and technical assistance to community-based non-profits serving immigrants and it manages national collaborative programs to empower newcomers and help them to become citizens
What have you accomplished?
CLINIC is now working to create, rejuvenate, and expand 85 distinct charitable legal programs for immigrants.
• CLINIC is promoting citizenship through a national plan to target the estimated nine million eligible lawful permanent residents who have not yet taken this important step.
• CLINIC supports group naturalization processing in 21 communities.
• CLINIC has provided 104 legal workshops for detained children, and has consulted with 200 children individually on their immigration cases.
• CLINIC also represents nearly 1,000 foreign-born priests, nuns, seminarians, and lay religious workers.
• CLINIC has significantly expanded our legal support to Catholic and non-Catholic groups who are responding to federal immigration raids and to state and local laws that attempt to deny certain immigrants the ability to subsist.
• CLINIC provides both technical assistance and direct services to immigrants survivors of domestic violence.
