Brain tumors strike children and adults in the prime of life. You can help us change the future from grim to promising by supporting national research, education and patient support. 800-934-CURE(2873).
Why do we exist?
The National Brain Tumor Foundation (NBTF), a non-profit organization established in 1981, exists to raise funds for research and to provide support and information to brain tumor patients and their families. Brain tumors affect over 100,000 people each year and the incidence has increased by 25% since 1975. Helping patients and their families to cope with this devastating illness is one of the main goals of NBTF.
What have you accomplished?
In addition to raising over $1.5 million for research, NBTF provides information that reaches over 1000 callers each month who contact us via our Patient Information Line. The NBTF Medical Advice Nurse is also available to answer complex questions about brain tumors and treatments. NBTF also provides support through the following: - Quarterly Newsletter sent to over 20,000 households in the US. - Special Caregiver Program - Teleconference Program: Free Presentations over the Phone - Web site: www.braintumor.org - National and Regional Conferences - Information Packets - Support Groups throughout the nation - Patient Support Network Line - Advocacy work through the North American Brain Tumor Coalition
