Sending God's Word into action, helping local churches worldwide unleash the Bible's power to lead people into a relationship with Jesus Christ and transform lives.
How do you help people in my community?
The Bible League works with churches across the United States, providing various programs to meet a specific need:
- Persecuted Church awareness-raising program helps educate about persecution around the world.
- Children Caring for Children is a series of mission projects designed to help your kids experience the joy of reaching kids around the world.
- Bibles for Missions Thrift Centers give renewed life to usable items, and shoppers love the exceptional values.
- Bible League Volunteers is a grassroots organization that supports the work of the Bible League through prayer, public awareness, and fundraising.
- Recycle Your Bible will send your extra Bibles to thousands of people around the world who are waiting for God's Word. Many people in Africa and the Philippines read English. They need Bibles, but they can't get them.
The Bible League works with Hispanics within the United States. In one year, one-half of the U.S. population’s growth was in the Hispanic community. The Bible League is responding to this huge growth by initiating a ministry specifically to reach the more than 40 million Hispanics living in the U.S. This ministry is already making a difference in the lives of thousands of Hispanic people throughout the nation as they study God’s Word and live by it.
Why do you need my support?
By partnering with Bible League you make a measurable difference through missions. Your gifts start bearing fruit right away. Bible League can report the number of Scriptures you help provide, as well as the number of people studying the Bible, the number of new Christians joining the Church, and the number of new churches being planted by the indigenous Christians we train. So, you'll have a real sense of how many lives you've helped transform by sharing God’s Word.
The Bible League's ministry goes beyond providing the Scriptures people need. We make sure those Scriptures are used for evangelism, discipleship, and church growth. We work with national churches in more than 60 countries, responding to their requests for God’s Word and the training to share it. In 2006, there were more than 3.2 million Bible study completions. We do not consider our mission completed until new believers are enfolded into the fellowship of a church. Last year, 423,163 new Christians became church members as a result of our ministry. In areas where there is no local church, we train Christians to establish new churches. In 2006, Christians trained by the Bible League established 5,807 new congregations in previously un-churched communities. People are finding hope, love and truth through Jesus Christ.
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?
The Bible League is firmly committed to good stewardship of funds entrusted to us by our partners. We promise to use your gifts wisely and effectively in Christ's name. To ensure our financial accountability to you, we are a founding member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). We fully support the purpose and goals of ECFA, and display its seal proudly to reflect compliance with its membership standards. Each year our finances are reviewed by a board of directors and audited by an independent auditing firm. We are committed to financial disclosure and trustworthy stewardship.
Can I Volunteer? How?
Yes, there are several ways you can volunteer to help Bible League:
- Bible League Volunteers is a grassroots organization that supports the work of the Bible League through prayer, public awareness, and fundraising. People who are Bible League Volunteers have a heart to give God's Word to those around the world who are desperately waiting for their own Bible. They act as representatives of the Bible League within their local churches and communities and work to educate others about the opportunity to send Scriptures. They conduct various events, such as retreats, golf outings, talent nights, concerts, and bake sales as fundraising projects. Bible League Volunteers are currently focusing their efforts on sending Bibles to Mexico.
- Bibles for Missions Thrift Centers operates 14 locations throughout the United States. Each center supports the work of the Bible League by raising funds to provide Bibles in a designated area of the world. Volunteering at a Thrift Center can give you…
Purpose. What can give you more purpose than to work in a ministry that places the Word of God in the hands of the spiritually hungry around the world?
Fulfillment. Working at the Bibles for Missions Thrift Centers offers a person fulfillment in obeying Christ’s command in the Great Commission to “teach them all I have commanded you,” Matthew 28:20. This is not only accomplished by placing Scriptures around the world; this is also done in daily contact with customers whose first glimpse of Jesus’ love may be in the actions and attitudes of dedicated Christian volunteers.
Enjoyment. Volunteers at the Thrift Centers constantly mention, “We have a lot of fun volunteering here.” They enjoy the fellowship as they work together toward a common goal.
