Abused and homeless youth deserve brighter futures. Providing shelter, counseling and community outreach to children, youth, teenage mothers, their children and families to end this tragedy.
Why do we exist?
The Abused and Homeless Children’s Refuge – Alternative House exists to provide immediate shelter and crisis intervention to children and youth who have been abused, abandoned, “thrown away,” are homeless, or who have run away. Our programs strive to help young people live in stable family settings that offer nurturing parents or caregivers. Alternative House provides shelter and counseling for abused and homeless children and adolescents, as well as community outreach programs to prevent drug use and violence.
What have you accomplished?
Since 1990, Alternative House has provided emergency shelter, food, clothing, counseling, and crisis intervention to more than 2,000 youth and their families.
