For 30 years, AFJ has fought to protect and promote justice for all Americans and strengthen the public interest community's ability to influence public policy at the state and national level.
How do you help people in my community?
The Alliance is headquartered in Washington D.C., but our work extends far beyond the nations capital. With over 50 member organizations as well as youth and civic programs that span the country, the Alliance for Justice is making a difference in neighborhoods across the country.
To take one example, powerful and well-funded interests often organize against social change. The Alliance for Justice, by working with nonprofits and foundations, helps leverage the money of progressive causes so that those working for social justice have an equal opportunity for their voices to be heard.
Why do you need my support?
The Alliance for Justice is only as strong as its supporters. There is always more work that can be done and your support makes a difference. Whether it helps train youth to become positive leaders, helps a local group of concerned parents organize a rally against gun violence, creates opportunities for students from disadvantaged situations to learn about careers in the public interest, or give advice to a local organizational director about advocacy work, your contribution will make a difference.
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?
We believe in our mission. Because of these strongly held beliefs, we are always looking for a way to maximize our resources and that means no dollar is spent lightly. This professional integrity and commitment to our mission is supported by our structure of organizational leadership, a governing body of volunteer leaders, and capable and accountable finance and accounting staff.
Can I Volunteer? How?
Absolutely. If you are interested in volunteering for an upcoming event or program, just contact the Alliance for Justice at (202) 232-3970 or visit us on the web at www.afj.org.
