Founded in 1962, Planned Parenthood: Shasta-Diablo provides low- to no-cost reproductive health services, education and advocacy to men, women and teens in the 13 Northern California counties PPSD serves.
How do you help people in my community?
We provide over 110,000 reproductive healthcare and educational services to women, men, and teens in ten healthcare centers and at outreach sites as varied as Earth Day at the Concord Pavilion, the safe houses for victims of domestic violence, youth transitional homes, and shelters for homeless families.
We have health centers located in Napa, Butte, Contra Costa, and Solano Counties to serve a diverse population of clients. Our Community Services and Education staff travel throughout our area, making presentations to classrooms, extracurricular clubs, and community service groups and offering counseling services to low-income individuals and families.
Why do you need my support?
Our vision is that people become parents by choice; privacy is an incontestable right; and reproductive health care is available, affordable, and effective in every community. Every gift made, large or small, is a statement that supports this vision. The money we raise from individuals provides fact-based, quality reproductive health care to the women, men, and teens we serve.
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?
70% of our income goes directly to Client Medical Services. The remaining percentage covers Administration, Fundraising, Public Affairs and our extensive Education and Counseling services.
Can I Volunteer? How?
Yes – we need volunteers in our Health Centers, to work on special events, assist at outreach events, and conduct Education programs. There are numerous areas where volunteers are needed! Just log onto www.ppshastadiablo.org and click on Jobs & Volunteers. Or call 925/676-0505 for more information.
