The Foundation's residential rehabilitation programs -- Josue Homes -- alleviate the isolation of HIV-positive women and men through supportive communal environments, while developing independent living skills, employment options and disease-management plans. Member of Father Joe's Villages.
How do you help people in my community?
Our residents have moved to San Diego from other parts of the country. At Josue Homes, we are helping hundreds of our neighbors stricken with HIV or AIDS put their lives back together. We help them reconcile with their families, regain their health, and move into permanent housing.
Why do you need my support?
Nearly everyone has been touched by someone affected by HIV. These are our neighbors--that's why we care.
How can I be sure that you will use my money wisely and won't waste it?
Our overhead is less than 10%, meaning that over $.90 of every dollar goes directly to our programs that assist our neighbors in need, while other non-profits operate on an average of 20-35% overhead. Audits by J.H. Cohn verify this administrative overhead figure and are available upon request.
Can I Volunteer? How?
Yes. Volunteers are the heart of many of our programs. We need drivers and housing assistants, as well as volunteers to help with shopping and administrative duties. To volunteer at Josue Homes, please call our volunteer office at (619) 233.8500, ext. 1101.
