We are an 'extended family' that serves all ages, ethnicities and religions with compassion and caring.  We counsel families, support seniors, house the homeless and abused, and feed the hungry.

How do you help people in my community?

We are responsive to the growing and changing needs right here in Los Angeles County.  Our nationally recognized programs counsel troubled families and children, support the elderly, house the homeless and abused, and feed the hungry.  We work collaboratively with many other agencies, too, to provide cutting-edge services.

Why do you need my support?

The needs continue to grow.  We provide a safety net for the poor and disabled.  We also help with emergency needs for individuals such as food and shelter.  No donation is too small.  $25 pays for a week of hot meals for a destitute senior.  $50 can help towards life-saving medication for chronically ill adult.    $840 pays for short term counseling for a depressed teen-ager.  $22,000 pays for a family to stay at our homeless shelter for 6 months with parenting & budgeting classes, job training and emotional counseling.

Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles has a 154-year old record of serving the community well.  Their board and staff are highly involved and passionate about the agency’s work being carried out in the most ethical and productive way.  We have clean audits every year and high client satisfaction.
